Grey College is a school of traditions. Throughout the last 154-odd years, many “official” traditions have developed (think boys standing up when a car passes, or parallel-medium education), and some less-official ones (think “tee”). In this section, we would like to share some of the interesting traditions, stories, quotes and occurences in Grey’s history. The aim is to make it an interactive section of this website, so we would truly appreciate any contributions. For instance, did you know that in 1947 Grey had two school captains? If your answer is affirmative, did you know why? These are examples of interesting facts that we would like to pass on to subsequent generations.
Any interesting anecdotes, quotes, traditions that might have died out completely, and humorous occurences (like the donkey, which was supposed to be part of Grey’s walk-in at the Inter-High Gala in 1968, that broke loose, causing mayhem at the stadium swimming pool) may be submitted to the following e-mail address: oldboys@greycollege.com . It will be truly appreciated.
